Integrations

Tasks rarely come up where you enter them. The integrations bring them to where they belong — from a chat, by voice, or from the to-do list you already keep.

Tasks by chat

You can create tasks straight from ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor — in plain language, without opening the app. You set the connection up in the parent area under Integrations; it runs over MCP, the open standard for this kind of connection.

This is most useful when you happen to be planning in a chat anyway — going through the week, sorting out the holidays — and want the tasks to appear where the thought appears.

The Gemini app and gemini.google.com do not support it yet. If you use Gemini CLI or Enterprise you can connect with an access key under Advanced.

Tasks by voice

The Alexa skill creates mandatory and bonus tasks by voice and checks them off. For a kitchen Echo next to the wall tablet it is the shortest route from "somebody should do that" to an actual task.

Todoist and Microsoft To Do

If you already keep your tasks in a to-do app, you should not have to maintain them twice. Both services can be connected, and there are two routes:

One-time import. You pick from a preview which tasks to bring over. Good for moving your existing list across at the start without committing to a permanent link.

Auto-sync rule. A wizard creates a rule that continuously pulls in a Todoist project or a Microsoft To Do list — either into the bonus pool or as mandatory tasks. You can see when it last synced and trigger a sync by hand at any time.

For imported bonus tasks you set how many coins they are worth — otherwise a long Todoist list would turn into a pile of tasks with no incentive attached.

Both connections are Premium features and need cloud mode; they are disabled for local families.

Where a task came from

Tasks from external sources carry a source marker. That is more than cosmetic: if a synced task cannot be written back because the connection expired, you see the message on the task itself — and know to reconnect, rather than doubting that your kid did the work.

Home Assistant and your own integrations

For smart-home households there is a Home Assistant integration via HACS that exposes task and coin state as entities — for a hallway dashboard, say, or an automation that reminds in the evening.

If you want to build something yourself, you can generate an access key and talk to the API directly. Both are self-service in the parent area; you do not have to ask us.

Smartwatch: Apple Watch, Wear OS and Garmin

Approval and cancellation requests, plus how the kids are doing, can be read and answered right from your wrist — no need to find your phone. Pair once — under Integrations → Pair watch in the parent area, generate a six-digit code and enter it on the watch — and it keeps working on its own after that.

Available for Apple Watch (watchOS), Wear OS and Garmin. Pairing is a Premium feature and needs cloud mode; it is disabled for local families.

Garmin differs in two ways. The app needs a paired phone with the Garmin Connect app in range — Garmin watches do not go online by themselves. And because Garmin has no actionable notifications, the watch refreshes on an interval rather than instantly. Answers tapped without a connection are kept and sent once the phone is back.

When a connection breaks

Every integration shows since when it has been connected and when it last synced. If a sync fails, the error appears there — the most common cause is an expired connection, fixed by connecting again.
